I was inspired to start consuming green delicious smoothies by one
of my favorite people, Victoria Boutenko of the Raw
Family. She is an expert at finding answers for better health and
wellness.
When Victoria started increasing her consumption of leafy greens she
experienced
Vibrant
Health with Delicious Green Smoothies. She had found a major
missing link in human nutrition and health. Through her research on
wild
chimpanzees, one of our closed genetic relatives, she found their daily
diet to consist of 40% leafy greens....

Standard American Human Diet consists of approx:

How Can You Eat More Greens And Make Them Tasty?
In 2005, Victoria first told me of this green discovery she had
found, I was uncertain I
could really enjoy green smoothies. After trying here's I feel in love
with greens so much I now munch
on the bottoms of kale and for me it is like eating pretzels.
Getting Past The Green Flavor And Look: In the beginning, I
found one way to
get more greens in my diet was to start adding less greens and lots of
sweet fruits. Over time I increased the amount of greens
until I reached 60% sweet or non-sweet fruit base and 40% green base,
after over 5 years it is more like 50-50.
Importance of Blending: Victoria found that the nutrients
within the
greens plant are contained with a strong outer cellulose. The Cellulose
is
extremely tough to break down in order for the plant to survive in the
wild. To release all the valuable
nutrients from within the cells, the cell walls need to be ruptured.(Green Smoothie

CHEWING greens until mush is the only way to release the nutrients
of the green plant. Once the nutrients are released, now your body
must be able to digest the minerals and vitamins from the plant.
Problems with chewing and digestion:
- Due to our lack of chewing over time our teeth are week and we
are
