Day 3 Of The Raw Green Smoothies 10-Day Challenge
Greens: A New Food Group

Day 3 on Raw Green Smoothies: Greens- The Forgotten Food Group

After finding out how nutritionally important greens are for our bodies I am confused as to why they are not given more credit. I feel like its time they get the proper recognition and food category.

Someone somewhere along the way created the category "vegetables" and stuck 100's of different fresh foods into it:

    Roots:
  • Carrots
  • Beets
  • Daikon Flowers:
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • ArtichokeNon-sweet Fruits:
  • Cucumber
  • Zucchini
  • Squash
  • Tomato
Unless you are like me and spend years getting to know nutritional information about different "vegetables" you may not really know that different fresh food have different nutritional properties all together.

So when we are told to eat our vegetables we may think that because we eat a few carrots and a couple of pieces of tomato we are doing what we need to do. In reality our true understanding and education of real nutrition and what our bodies need is lost.

Greens have also been placed in the "vegetable" category and Greens are NOT a vegetable. They are not starching, like roots, flowers and non-sweet fruits. Greens can also be added to fruits. Greens are also the best thing we can do for our digestion. They are totally versatile, they can pretty much go with anything!

Greens are the primary food group that match human nutritional needs most completely! I am proposing we all ban together to create the best nutritional food group: GREENS!

Loving Myself While On Raw Green Smoothies

I love that when I set an intention I do it. I am not a competitive person with others. Yet with myself I live up to my own self promises.

Mental, Emotional, And Physical Awareness

Mentally I am still plugging along with my writing. Feeling more focused than ever on my raw green smoothies.

Emotionally I am still feeling like I am angry and complaining about others all the time. I am finding it a bit hard to be around myself.

Physically, I am feeling like my legs are swelling. My body is feeling tight.
