Breakfast is an important meal of the day. Eating a fresh healthy breakfast will also start you off enjoying the best foods for your body and support you throughout the day to continue with the same practice.

Leafy greens like spinach, kale, celery and romaine lettuce are a perfect partner to the fresh fruit combination. Over many years I have found my digestion works best when I wait to consume any overt fats like nuts, seeds and avocados to the end of the day rather than mixing them with fruit.

Here are a few favorite our family enjoys each morning:

  • Banana Pudding: 5-6 fresh ripe raw bananas blended with 3-4 cups of fresh spinach, 1 teaspoon of powdered vanilla bean and 2 cups of ice. Makes 2 servings

  • Banana, Mango, Blueberry Parfait:




    Blend 1 banana with 1 cup of frozen or fresh blueberries,1 banana (if you do want the banana you can add 2 mangoes) and 1 mango until creamy smooth. Slice 1/2 banana or 1/3 mango in the bottom of a beautiful glass cup then pour 1/3 of the creamy mango banana blueberry mix. Then another layer of slices banana or 1/3 diced mango and 1/3 creamy blend, repeat one more time. Serves 1

  • Mango Berry Yogurt:




    1-2 frozen mangoes blend until creamy. Float 1/2-1 cup of fresh or defrosted mixed berries and stir into mango ice. For a real creamy blend I add 1 fresh banana at the bottom of the blender first and then add the frozen mangoes. Serves 1

  • Mango Banana Spice:




    Slice and dice 1-2 mango and 1-2 banana in a bowl add a pinch of Stevia powder, a squeeze of Agave Nectar, or raw honey stir in with a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice. Serves 1
