Fun Fitness Tips

Fun fitness tips for weight loss, muscle tone, strength, and to feel good. Fitness can be fun and playful. Riding a bike, playing soccer, dancing, and much, much more can be part of an active life.

I have so much fun when I incorporate playing with my children into my movement/exercise time. We may head down to the swimming pool, swim back and forth then throw the ball around for 30 minutes to an hour. I feel my heart pumping and my leg and arm muscle firming up to move about.

Our Family Fitness Fun:

Fun Fitness Tips:

  1. Have fun and love the type of movement/exercise.
  2. Feel the heart speed up.
  3. Feel the muscles working.
  4. Make time to have fun moving. No more excuses, you are worth it!
  5. Keep it fun! Laughing burns calories too, so smile and laugh.
  6. Spend at least 20 minutes on fitness, 3 to 7 days a week.
The fun fitness tips are simple ways to inspire us to get moving. TV, computers, and video games are fun but a diet of only these electronics does not do a body well. Stay fun, upbeat and enjoy your fitness routine.

Fun Fitness Tips On Robyn's 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate: Almonds, Almond milk, raspberries, RAWnola, 2 bananas’, butternut squash cookies, Green Smoothie with pineapple, spinach, banana, ice & water.

Emotionally: I am happy about my weight loss again this week. Man, it sure helps me in the motivation department! I am now down 20 lbs. from the beginning of this challenge.

Physically: It was a “take it easy” day today. It’s Sunday and I decided to take a nap with the kids. It was nice to relax. I am taking notice of the extra stamina I have each day. It is a good feeling.

Mentally: I am focusing on my goals for the upcoming month. I bought a kettle bell and need to see if I can work out a routine with the internet or if I need to try and get a trainer after all.

One way I love myself today: I tried something new, three things actually! I started the cookies yesterday, but they finished up in the dehydrator today. I remember when I lived in Okinawa there were raspberry bushes at the bottom of the hill. I loved to help pick them, but you couldn’t pay me to eat one. They were nasty hairy seedy things in my eyes. Today, I made my first batch of Almond Milk. I poured it over some RAWnola and topped it off with raspberries. I actually had to get up and put more raspberries in my glass. It was really good. If you’d have told me a month ago I’d be making my own Almond Milk and eating raspberries, I’d have had some serious trouble believing you. Now, I am all game for trying something new in the kitchen.

Physical Activity: None today.

Fun Fitness Tips On Robyn's 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate: Almonds, Green Smoothie with pineapple, spinach, banana, ice & water, green grapes, salad with Darlene’s creamy Italian dressing, almonds, avocado, tomato, carrots & cucumber, flax seed crackers & 80 oz. water

Emotionally: Life is bright and sunny today. I just feel really positive! Let the sun shine!

Fun Fitness Tips: I am itching to move today. I’m glad I had the opportunity to go on that walk.

Mentally: I am looking forward to going home and eating some flaxseed crackers. Yesterday when Darlene was over, she showed me how to make them. They are in my dehydrator, and smelled really good yesterday. One more new thing I am trying in the kitchen.

One way I love myself today: I love myself today for sending out a positive vibe to the world! I am simply feeling a oneness/connectivity to the earth. HELLO PLANET EARTH! Here’s your warm fuzzy for the day from RAWbyn!

Physical Activity: I did a 30 minute walk today. I was kind of laughing at myself. I was walking in a public place and would pick an individual to out “race” as I walked today. I outpaced every one of them! Not that they knew we were racing with me. ;o)

May 19, 2009/Day 31

Fun Fitness Tips On Robyn's 90 Day Raw Food journey

Today I ate: Cashews, 1 banana, raw food bar, 1 apple, Romaine salad with Darlene’s creamy Italian dressing, almonds, avocado, tomato, carrots & cucumber, flax seed crackers & 88 oz. water

Emotionally: I was thinking of a quote from Abe Lincoln, “Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today.” I don’t want to wait for tomorrow to succeed in obtaining my new, slimmer, healthier self. I’ve made myself a priority. I shall not wait for tomorrow to live my life.

Physically: I am feeling pretty good. I went to bed early, and got a good nights rest. (As much as one can with a nursing baby.) Why is my back still hurting? Ugh!

Mentally: I was thinking about my previous attempts at loosing weight and why it never worked. I have no definitive answer. I cannot pin point anything specific. I am thinking now that the possibility exists that I was never successful, because I had not removed the addictive foods that contributed to my weight gain in the first place. Also, I never clearly addressed the emotional aspect of weight gain. I am considering going to Weight Watchers meetings again, as I have a gold card I have not used, (it’s a pre-paid meeting card) and see what happens in the meetings and see where I went wrong before or what I may have been missing. I am interested to see what it all looks like from a RAW perspective. It already feels kind of tainted to me. It now shimmers like a big money making operation all of the sudden. With what I’ve been reading, there is a lot to think about. Who profits from a raw foodist? The local farmer’s market, raw food authors, Whole Foods, Vita-mix, Champion Juicer, Dehydrator companies. I am sure that Weight Watchers International cuts a much larger piece of the profit pie when all is said and done. I am sure I have read that the diet industry is on an annual basis a billion dollar industry.

One way I love myself today: I got some blood work done today. I read that it is good to do it once a year in the High Raw book to gauge where you are nutritionally. I am actually excited to see the results.

Fun Fitness Tips: I got on You Tube and looked up some people doing kettle bell work outs. I did a lot of the movements with my 9lb kettle bell; I didn’t look at the time frame I did it in. I would just do a couple of sets, rest and do more sets. Whew!

May 20, 2009/Day 32

Fun Fitness Tips On Robyn's 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate: 1 banana, Almond Milk, raspberries & RAWnola, 88 oz. water, cashews, Mediterranean wrap, raisins, Spinach salad with almonds, carrots, celery, plum tomatoes, and Darlene’s wonderful creamy Italian dressing.

Emotionally: Last nights experience with my old friends Weight Watchers has somehow strengthened my resolve. I feel some how even more internally committed to a raw food lifestyle.

Fun Fitness Tips: I am feeling pretty sore! That Kettle bell has given me a run for my money. I am really surprised at how sore I am all over the place! My shoulders, arms, knees, hips are all barking at me this morning!

Mentally: So, I went to my Weight Watchers meeting where I and previously lost and gained back 30 lbs. and was armed with my W.W. Gold Card ready to have it punched for the very first time. I had looked up on their web page before I went to the meeting, and it said that they currently had a special where there were no registration fees in certain areas. Registration is currently $40.00. My W.W. Gold Card which costs about $105.00. (Might be more) had been purchased by me several months ago and I had never used it, but it covers all the fee’s for 10 meetings and that is at a reduced rate. Normal meetings cost $12.00 a meeting but if you buy a gold or silver card it lessens the price of the meetings. So, I walk in with a card that is worth $105.00. I told them about the free registration special I saw on the internet, and they said that offer wasn’t valid in my area. I then asked if they could use some of the punches on my card towards the registration fees. A resounding No! was my answer from the previously warm and welcoming receptionists behind the counter. It was explained to me that registration fees were separate from the gold card. So, I couldn’t stay and attend the meeting or use my gold card as payment as I was unwilling to pay them $40.00 for registration. I smiled, said thank you and turned around and walked out the door. I guess I had my answer within moments about the truth behind Weight Watchers. Money talks and I walked!

One way I love myself today: My breakfast is the way I loved myself today. I love that RAWnola, and it was a delicious breakfast. Man, what a treat!!! It makes me feel absolutely spoiled.

Physical Activity: I did work out with my kettle bell, but did mostly floor exercises so that I wasn’t straining my sore muscles.

Fun Fitness Tips On Robyn's 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate: 1 banana, RAWnola, 80 oz. water, Spinach salad with almonds, carrots, celery, plum tomatoes, and Darlene’s wonderful creamy Italian dressing, a green smoothie with spinach, banana and blueberries, cauliflower./p>

Emotionally: I am feeling a need to grow and evolve and blossom

Physically: I am curious why my body is giving me so much grief. I am trying to think what is happening in my life that keeps this back pain at a constant. Hopefully it will come to me.

Mentally: I am focused on accomplishing a lot of work goals since it’s my FRIDAY!

One way I love myself today: I was running late this morning, so I brought my Vita-mix to work so that I would not have to go another day without my Green Smoothie. I also found a recipe for raw vegan popcorn that I am going to go home and try.

Physical Activity: A bike ride to the park with my kids in the bike trailer.

May 22, 2009/Day 34

Fun Fitness Tips On Robyn's 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate: A Green Smoothie with papaya, blackberries & Kale, macadamia nuts, an orange, an apple, raisins, and a Mediterranean wrap.

Emotionally: I have a lot to do today, and I am feeling very focused.

Physically: I am sore! I went and had a massage to try and help with the pain I am feeling in my lower back. I did hear a pop during the massage, and I hope that was the problem.

Mentally: I was kind of amused with the massage therapist. Even though in my mind, massage therapy is on the other side of the street as far as standard medical practices are concerned, the therapist said I should go to the doctor to have them take a look at my back. I didn’t expect that from a massage therapist.

One way I love myself today: By getting a massage and hopefully putting myself on the road to recovery, and decreasing my back pain.

Physical Activity: Nothing other than the massage.
