I spent many years watching my mother participate in diet after diet. Although I don't talk to her about this subject I can almost guarantee she is on some type of diet as I type these words.

Diets that promise fast weight loss naturally are interesting, since that is usually all they offer. Weight loss must be approached, like any real change, from a whole prospective.

Eating unhealthy food is NOT solely to blame for those unwanted pounds. Sure the unhealthy fat is basically a sign of malnutrition. When we eat foods with little or no nutritional value our bodies store this food stuff as fat.

However the number one reason many carry extra, at times excessive weight, is our emotional attachment to the unhealthy pounds. It is our belief about ourselves and our need for comfort or distance. We search for ways outside ourselves, rather then from within, to heal our emotional unrest.

Studies have shown a thin person and an overweight person can eat the same foods, including portion size. Still the overweight person may gain a few pounds or maintain their large size, while the thin person will remain thin.

So what's the difference between the two people? It is the thoughts about themselves that is the main difference, more so than any other factor.

How Does Fast Weight Loss Naturally Begin?

Through my conversations with Robyn, we have discussed her mental and emotional weight loss as much as her physical fast weight loss. She feels great about the choice of fresh food habits was easy, its the part of finding things she likes about herself that is hard part and yet the most important!

  • Journal: I will say this over and over throughout these many raw food inspiration pages, journal.
  • When you write down what you are eating, feeling, doing you cement more of your new habits and you become more aware of your actions.

  • Fall In-Love With Yourself: Everyday Robyn is asked to find one thing she loves/likes about herself NOW.
  • This is KEY she must love who she is NOW if she is ever to love herself later. Fast weight loss happens when you mentally create a new pathway to loving yourself, even with all the extra love on your body!

  • Emotions, What To Do With Them: Find other ways to release your emotions. Using food to stuff your emotions will no longer work if your intention is to be healthy, both physically and mentally.
  • Byron Katie has a great formula called Four Questions And A Turn Around. Find a friend, or even better be your own best friend and when painful things come up begin the process.

  • Physical Movement, PLAY: The best way to exercise is through play.
  • I know that exercise can seem a bit too much once in a while. You can either find new ways to incorporate new movements into your life or find a sport you love and do it as much as you can. Climb stairs, park far away and walk, ride bikes, etc. Robyn has 3 little children, works full time and she finds time to play with her children and move her body. Start with small movements and add more as time moves on you'll be on the path to that magic fast weight loss!

  • Mental Readiness: Are you ready to give up being where you are now and begin again?
  • You must be ready for a lifestyle change. My favorite motto from Shawshank Redemption "Get busy livin' or get busy dieing." What other choice do you have? I can tell Robyn is ready. She called me, she does the work, she journals, she wants something so much better for herself, and she is different everyday! Seriously ask yourself, "Am I willing to do the mental work to make the changes necessary to change my life?"

May 4, 2009/Day 16

Fast Weight Loss Naturally 90 Day Raw Food Challenge

Today I ate:
Green Smoothie with 2 banana’s, spinach & frozen organic peaches,
3 Clementine’s Cashews,
Spinach salad with carrots, red onion, cucumbers, avocado, almonds, sunflower & pumpkin seeds & Darlene’s creamy Italian dressing.
72 oz. water

Fast Weight Loss Naturally Emotionally: I received a phone call from a work associate today. He’s opening up a new restaurant and invited me to a food tasting today at lunch. FREE LUNCH, yes, there really is one out there, and it’s mine for that taking. I declined the offer. However, I ran into him during my office run and asked him if I could bum an avocado, as I forgot one for my salad. He kindly obliged me the avocado and I went on my merry RAW way.

Fast Weight Loss Naturally Physically: Feeling tired today. Someone offered to do the office run today for me, and I declined. That would never have happened before. I would have “figuratively” jumped at the offer to stay at my desk and let someone else do the leg work. I enjoyed my office run, and was glad I didn’t take the offer up to let someone else do it. I feel like I am power walking compared to how I used to walk.

Fast Weight Loss Naturally Mentally: I feel like Goldilocks & the three bears with my Green Smoothie. It can’t be too thick or too sweet, it has to be just right, and I can’t seem to get it just right, so I am not happy about drinking it. I will have to work on it a little more closely. I know that is my morning boost, and I also feel that I should enjoy what I am eating. It is almost noon and I am only half way done with it. Looks like I might not finish it today.

Fast Weight Loss Naturally Through Love: I loved myself today by putting out a desire to a friend of mine. She did a bike ride this weekend, and I know I am a novice right now, but come next year, I will be a RAW animal! So, I asked her to look me up next ride and I’d be glad to join her.

May 5, 2009/Day 17

Fast Weight Loss Naturally 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate:
Green Smoothie with 2 banana’s, spinach & strawberries, 2 Clementine’s, red grapes,
3 Flax crackers, romaine salad with carrots, celery, red onion, cucumbers, avocado, almonds, sunflower & pumpkin seeds & Darlene’s creamy Italian dressing,
72 oz. water
RAWnch dressing & 3 Carrots

Emotionally: Today is Cinco de Mayo, and at work they are celebrating with all kinds of savory, wonderful smelling foods. Oh, my, chicken tacos & brisket and on and on. It is filling up the office with all these wonderful smells. I am sitting back at my desk eating BBQ flax crackers and grapes. I am getting razzed a little by one of my co-workers. He knows I am on a 90 Day RAW Challenge and he’s giving me a little grief because I am not partaking, but I am okay with it.

Physically: I feel good today. My bike ride last night was longer than I have gone before and I was expecting to be sore this morning, yet, I was not. I appreciate my body’s acclimation to the new diet. It is responding quite well to exercise. I am grateful!

Mentally: I am wrapping my head around the reason I am not back in the break room partaking of the 7 layer bean dip, etc. I’ve had far too many years of obesity to be freaking out about one meal. Yes, it does smell good, but loosing 15 lbs. in 17 days feels better. I feel better. (I know, I am trying not to get on the scale everyday, and I admit to having some difficulty breaking that habit.) Surprisingly, it is harder to stay off the scale, than it is to stay on the RAW Food Challenge!

Fast Weight Loss Naturally through love: Today I decided to love my ankles. They are quite sturdy, not at all dainty, but they can sure help me pedal my bike. So, I love you ankles!

Physical Activity: My daughter wants to go bike riding again tonight, so we are headed out again after work!

May 6, 2009/Day 18

Fast Weight Loss Naturally 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate:
96 oz. water,
1 cucumber & Darlene’s Tahini dressing, 3 Clementine’s, 1 tomato & more tahini dressing, 4 celery sticks & Darlene’s Creamy Italian dressing.

Emotionally: I am noticing small changes in my body that I like. There is less waddle on the back of my arms. I am excited, thinking forward to when others will start noticing the physical changes that are taking place with my body. I lost 30 lbs. on a diet and remember feeling good when someone asked me if I had lost some weight. So, I guess I am projecting happy thoughts of future success. Although, everyday I am RAW is a success, yes?

Physically: I think I ate way too much salad yesterday. Perhaps I was compensating for not participating in that pot luck. But I felt overly full last night and into this morning. I am going to eat light today and hopefully I will start feeling better. I am craving a tomato. Never thought I’d see the day that would happen.

Mentally: I want to swim in the deluge of RAW information. Just soak it all up with my sponge of a brain. I ordered some more books and should be getting them in 2 days. I am anxiously awaiting their arrival.

One way I love myself today: I love myself because I am willing to help others.

Physical Activity: Pulling my two little one’s in the bike trailer made a huge difference. I was much more winded and didn’t have the strength to go as fast. Whew! Still had fun, riding to a park close by and playing on the equipment with my children, not just watching them play.

May 7, 2009/Day 19

Fast Weight Loss Naturally Raw Food Journey

Today I ate:
96 oz. water,
Green smoothie with 1 banana, frozen strawberries & spinach,
spinach salad with lots of grape tomatoes, carrots, avocado, green onion & Darlene’s creamy Italian dressing,
green grapes, 2 Clementine’s, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, & 1 Flax seed cracker.

Fast Weight Loss Naturally through Emotional Consciousness: I feel calmness within me today. I don’t know if it’s in part, because I am listening to soothing music, but I won’t buck the feeling just because music’s involved. It gives me a tool to reach for when I need to have calm and might be having trouble getting to that place.

Physically: I feel better today after eating light yesterday. I really did over do it on Cinco de Mayo with my salad. I have to be conscious of a not creating unhealthy habits even eating RAW food. I remember that day; I took my last break and finished my lunch salad. I wasn’t even hungry, but I was going to eat it anyway.

Mentally: I keep waiting for the proverbial ball to drop. Yes, I have moments where food is an issue, but on the whole, I am completely content eating all RAW all the time. I was thinking of my old eating behaviors, and I thought about when there was a pot luck at work before my RAW challenge started. I would usually peruse the leftovers later in the day and see what was left over to sample. Sometimes I’d fix myself a plate for lunch the next day. I would certainly have another dessert on my last break. I found myself in that break room eating my left over salad, because there were old habits trying to resurface, and I guess to an extent, they did. I did overeat, even though it was RAW food, and felt bad because of it.

One way I love myself today: I love myself because I am constantly striving to change my dietary habits, and I am succeeding, each and every day, step by step.

Physical Activity: Wii board for 30 minutes. I focused on strength training & yoga.

May 10, 2009/Day 22

Fast Weight Loss Naturally 90 Day Raw Food Journey

Today I ate: A few bites of RAWnola, a green smoothie with 1 banana, pineapple and spinach. 2 bananas, leftovers from my enchiladas with flax seed chips, guacamole and yam rice, cashews and 1 orange.

Emotionally: I feel kind of stressed. It’s Mother’s Day. I am breaking a long held tradition by not going out and having a nice meal to celebrate me being a mom. It is tradition. It is what I do. It is what my church does. I stayed home with Ruth because she is ill. So, I was feeling a little internal conflict.

Physically: I knew I still couldn’t go out and ride, so I got up before the kids did today and worked out on the Wii Fit Board. I have a sore back, lower left side, and did a lot of yoga trying to work out the kinks.

Mentally: I am feeling good about my choices. I am 3 lbs. down from last week. I can’t complain about that! I wish it were more, but am grateful for the amount that is gone. I am so ready to have flat abs! I keep visualizing! It’s coming!!!

Physical Activity: 35 minutes on my Wii Fit board
