Darlene Eating Raw Food
A day in the life of my raw food diet!


Eating raw food is fun and I love it or I would not do it. As with anything in life, the most important thing is to love what you do and do what you love!

Ask me and it is given:
A new question was asked of me on one of my YouTube videos, "Darlene, could you please tell me what your average day is like eating raw food?" Of course you know how much I love receiving and passing on inspiration so I thought I would show you (write) what I enjoy eating on an average day.

Please feel free to play around with your diet and see how many fresh foods you can enjoy each day. Playing is of course the key component to complete health and overall wellness. Fresh foods are good for you when you ENJOY them and are having fun creating fresh food recipes!

  • I love getting up in the morning and starting with a fresh great smoothie. My favorite for years is a combination of celery and bananas. This is a great electrolyte drink for before or after exercise because it is the perfect blend of carbohydrates and sodium replacement.
  • After my 6, 8 or 13 plus mile run or 25 mile bike ride I come home and LOVE to blend up 2 peeled oranges and 2 1/4 cups of frozen pineapple. You can also enjoy this as a drink using fresh pineapple instead of frozen and as usual feel free to add greens as well.
  • A bit later, once I am hungry, I make a salad with no-overt fat dressing. Right now my favorite is mango, pineapple, sweet pepper dressing. It tastes to me like sweet and sour sauce. I pour it over shredded cabbage, broccoli slaw and bean sprouts, YUMMY!
  • If I get hungry later I may have a snack of fresh fruit, banana, watermelon, or any other fruit I have in the house.
  • For dinner I will have a green smoothie or green ice cream (banana, mango or pineapple).
  • I stop eating before 6 PM in the evening as I like to feel as though all my food as digested by the time I go to bed. I may even add a muscle building and ab workout at some point 3-4 days a week and I take off one day to give myself a break from fitness.

For the past 13 years I have loved eating raw food's and playing with different fruits and vegetables as this supports my creative side. For the past year I have been focused on simpler, quicker recipes that support my nutrient needs and yet I am no longer in the kitchen too much. At times I may feel a burst of inspiration to create a lengthy recipe but that is becoming more rare as I have been focused on play and fitness more so than food creation. The great thing about life is you can always change what your doing and shift to match what direction you want to go in now!
