My dehydrator is great for such occasions. I use it as an occasional replacement to a stove. Dehydrators come in handing, especially in transition to a more raw food diet or whether you are just interested in getting more raw and living foods into your diet.
In many of the recipes I design I love to Keep It Simple Sweetie and use the least amount of ingredients as possible. While keeping the best flavor! Raw Gr-oat Meal cookies are fun and easy to make using only 6 ingredients. Less if you would like to leave out the spice.
Another great thing about these raw cookies is they were inspired for KIDS! If you are a mother on a path to create healthier meals for you kids or rather you or your spouse is the kid in the family these are a great family fun food to make together. Either way like always enjoy the journey and path towards better help and wellness.
Raw Oatmeat Cookies or Gr-Oat Meal Cookie Recipe
- 2 cups of raw oat groats, ground into a flour
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup dates
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons raw cacao nibs
- 1/4 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Optional: Add raw Powdered cacao and make them chocolate, extra ripe banana for banana cookies or feel free to add more pumpkin pie spice.
- Water or Agave Nectar to process.
In a food processor blend the banana and dates until creamy. Second add the groat meal flour, spices or power raw cacao and blend again. Next add the raw cacao and raisins blend just a bit. Add any water, coconut water or Agave if need to blend.
When your done it is good to have the consistency of the thick, sticky cookie dough you remember as a young one or that you make when cooking cookies.
Lastly place the dough in 2 to 3 tablespoon balls flattened on a Teff Flex sheet and place them in the dehydrator for 6 to 24 hours depending on how you like them (hard or soft). ENJOY!
