At times in the heat of the summer I really enjoy a dip in the pool and a creamy dreamy banana shake.
There was a time, before my vegan and raw days, I enjoyed anything ice cream.
When I was young I loved creamy dreamy ice cream so much I would open the opposite end the ice cream container and eat from the opposite side as my parents had opened. If fact when I moved out of the family home my dad commented, “The ice cream in our house sure lasts longer now!”
Oh the memories. . .
Once I went vegan I tried a few non-dairy ice creams and somehow along the way I lost the passion for my once ice cream love. Over this past summer I have been releasing a few past emotions. One day I woke with a craving for a creamy delicious smoothie. I decided to start shaking things up the rawsome way and came up with several creamy delicious cool summer shake sensations.
I found using ripe spotted organic bananas, freezing them or adding lots of ice with the bananas, to be a great substitute for ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Bananas support your body and create the perfect creamy base for smoothies or shakes.
If you are sensitive to bananas I recommend using mangoes or any other creamy fruit instead. Although I have found it to be more affordable and practical to find organic bananas vs. organic mangoes. Either way enjoy these cool treats anytime you have a hankerin’ for creamy dreamy coolness!
