Raw Food Inspiration:
The #1 advantage to eating a raw vegan diet. . . limit-less Combination Possibilities!
You are only limited by your imagination!”
Every time I create a raw food recipe I add a little bit of something different and it still comes out delicious. As long as you keep the flavors balanced: sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and bitter, it turns out perfectly tasty.
For fun change a recipe with:
OLD TO NEW:
Speaking of old favorites, do you have any of your old cooked recipes still around the kitchen?
Create a new recipe from an old favorite. Whenever I get a new request for “Thai Dressing,” “Lasagna,” or “Banana Creme Pie” I like to look up a cooked version and create a raw version. For example:
An old Thai Dressing Recipe ingredients are:
1 Tbsp. lime juice
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. fish sauce (or vegetarian fish sauce)
1 tsp. white wine vinegar, or rice vinegar
2-3 cloves fresh garlic, pressed or minced
1 fresh red chili, de-seeded and minced, OR 1 tsp. chilli sauce (or more if you want it spicier)
1/2 tsp. sugar (more or less to taste)
pinch of white pepper (or substitute regular black pepper)
You could creatively change the ingredients to:
Raw Thai Dressing:
2 tablespoons of lime juice
1 tablespoon of Nama Shoyu (raw soy sauce)
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 fresh red chili, de-seeded and minced or 1 teaspoon of dried chili peppers.
1 tablespoon of Agave Nectar
1 pinch of white or black pepper
1 teaspoon of fresh ginger
1 tablespoon of raw tahini (sesame seed butter), 1 tablespoon of almond butter, 1 tablespoon of raw olive oil or raw sesame seed oil.
Mix in a bowl and pour over spicy mixed greens or shredded cabbage. Enjoy the creative journey to raw food translation.
