Day #6: 10-Day Green Smoothie Challenge: Greens & Homeostasis!

Homeostasis: *The tendency of the body to seek and maintain a condition of balance or equilibrium within its internal environment, even when faced with external changes. A simple example of homeostasis is the body's ability to maintain an internal temperature around 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, whatever the temperature outside.

**"This extraordinary ability of all living organisms to repair themselves is the only power that can heal any illness." Any other techniques and methods invented by humans must first incorporate the the body's own natural ability to regulate itself.

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves! Most importantly in order for our body to achieve homeostasis we must eliminate the unhealthy products and food "stuff" we put into and on our bodies.

Are bodies are constantly working to achieve balance and health. We can support our bodies by drinking fresh organic green smoothies. Green smoothies provide the body with vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, amino acids and many trace elements.

Smoothie #1

  • 3 Bananas
  • 1 cup Kale
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 Peach
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice

Smoothie #2

  • 3 Bananas
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice

Other Food:

  • 3 cups mixed greens
  • 4 tablespoons guacamole
  • 4 tablespoons salsa
  • 1 tablespoon raw chocolate

Loving Log

I was loving and true to myself by going to yoga. I had missed the first yoga session at one studio and was too early for another. I felt strongly about going and treating myself to strength and stretch and I when to a third studio and I was right on time.

Mental, Emotional, and Physical Awareness Log

Mentally: Feeling clear and focused to achieve the goals of writing 100 pages by the end of the summer.

Physically: Yoga was really kicking my but and I am so happy I did it. I feel so much better when I am maintaining a physically active life.

Emotionally: I am starting to feel so much better, happier. My friend told, I look more relaxed than 15 years ago, after she say a picture of me. I feel I am becoming more and more of an allowing person and that is changing the look of me on the outside too.
